Businesses Ending Slavery and Trafficking

Businesses Ending Slavery and Trafficking (BEST) aligns and equips leaders to use the power of business to prevent human trafficking. Waldron is proud to partner with BEST to support the efforts in reducing sexual exploitation, preventing sex trafficking, and connecting survivors and persons at risk.

In 2011, a Washington-based foundation hosted a series of meetings to examine how trafficking might be prevented in the state. A clear consensus emerged: Businesses were central to the prevention and reporting of human trafficking yet they were almost entirely absent in statewide and nationwide efforts and protocols.

BEST was launched in March 2012 to fill that gap.

Waldron employees are volunteering their time to offer support to those that have been rescued from slavery and human trafficking. Waldron is helping individuals prepare for job interviews by helping them develop and write their resumes, help with interview skills, provide mock interviews, and we offer some paid internships to help them learn valuable workplace skills.

Businesses Ending Slavery and Trafficking strives to create a world in which no one is trafficked. BEST believes that every person has the right to be free from sexual exploitation and forced labor.
