Waldron recently sponsored the keynote track at the two-day Crosscut Festival in Seattle, Washington. The festival was organized by the news outlet Crosscut and hosted by Seattle University. The keynote track featured thought provoking conversations regarding major issues facing our communities today from top leaders in politics, business and social justice activism. The leaders were interviewed live on stage by some of the best journalists in the Pacific Northwest.
The festival drew in a crowd of more than 1500 attendees from across the state and region to listen to more than 50 speakers on four stages. Attendees were able to mingle with local and national journalists and enjoy a variety of cuisine from local food trucks.
A few of the keynote speakers included: Washington State Governor, Jay Inslee; Oregon Governor, Kate Brown; Washington State Attorney General, Bob Ferguson; former Secretary of the Interior, Sally Jewell; Obama speechwriter, David Litt; George W. Bush speechwriter, David Frum; Texas Democrat and Former HUD Secretary under Obama, Julian Castro; and Seattle Mayor, Jenny Durkan.
