Passionate, Qualified... But Hesitant to Move


Waldron partnered with The Evans School of Public Policy & Governance, University of Washington, to conduct our third annual social sector survey report. This survey report looks into the barriers to relocation for social sector leaders, remote work and leadership, and the challenges for the talent pipeline in the social sector.

Top findings include:

  • Only 39% of social sector leaders leaders would move for mission alone
  • Cost of housing/living is a significant impediment to the recruitment of qualified candidates
  • 35% of CEOs have said that working remotely has increased performance, but only 5% of Vice Presidents agree
