Waldron Success! UW Evans School Mentorship Pilot Program

Perfect summer weather provided a great backdrop on the Waldron deck Thursday, August 11th.  The University of Washington Evans School of Public Policy and Governance Mentorship program hosted a celebration for their graduates and their mentors as a culmination of the successful pilot program.

Kiana Scott, Assistance Director for Advancement & Alumni Relations, from UW Evans School sent a big thank you; “The strong connections between your work and our goals for our graduates made this such a meaningful location” – Kiana Scott.

Laughter and smiles ensued as the mentorship program officially came to an end. A partnership between the Evans School and the University of Washington Alumni Association, the program paired students in their last year of graduate school with UW Alumni based on mutual interest.  For one year, the alumni have helped to guide these students in their studies on their way into the job market.  According to Kiana Scott, “More than half of all graduating students applied to participate in this program, along with almost fifty alumni in the Seattle area.  This program has been a great success, and we plan to continue it in the 2016-2017 academic year.”

We are proud to have Tom Waldron sit on the UW Evans School advisory board and are happy to see that these students were able to make the most of the mentorship program.
